John McBride, who is of counsel to the firm, practices in the areas
of estate planning, estate administration, guardianship, elder law,
business taxation, tax planning and bankruptcy.
From many years handling litigation, tax planning, business succession
planning and representation of debtors in bankruptcy, Mr. McBride
has also developed expertise in assisting businesses and their owners
who are in a financial crisis.
Mr. McBride attended the American School of Paris, France, with
Ms. Shatzkin. He earned his B.A. at Cornell University in 1972. After
other professional activities, he attended Albany Law School of Union
College, obtaining his law degree cum laude in 1992. At law school,
he was awarded the Fleet Investment Services Award, the Helen T.
Wilkinson Award and the Ira Mark Bloom Award.
Prior to entering private practice, Mr. McBride worked for the Internal
Revenue Service as a Tax and General Litigation Attorney. Mr. McBride
is a co-author of "Guardianship Practice in New York State" (New
York Bar Association 1997).
