Mark N. Diller graduated from Columbia College in 1980, and cum laude from Fordham University School of Law in 1985, where he was a member of the Fordham Law Review.
Mr. Diller’s practice began as a litigation associate at Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson, and then grew to include intellectual property and acquisition matters in addition to litigation at Gold, Farrell & Marks. Mr. Diller served as Senior Vice President and Legal Counsel at Young & Rubicam, Inc., the advertising, media placement and public relations multinational, from 1996 until the company was taken private in 2000, specializing in pre-publication review, licensing, litigation, technology, risk management and overseas affiliations. Since that time, Mr. Diller’s practice has included resolving disputes through litigation, negotiation and alternative dispute resolution; negotiating and concluding licensing, affiliation, and new business agreements; and counseling clients on intellectual property and related issues.
Mr. Diller is the Secretary of Community Board 7 (Manhattan) and co-chair of its Youth, Education and Libraries Committee, on which he advocates for responsible, sustainable development on the Upper West Side and for equitable education policies meeting the needs of public-school children, parents and teachers. Mr. Diller is also a commissioned instructor with New York Taiko Aiko Kai, a group which uses traditional percussion instruments to explore Japanese music and culture.
